وَالْفَجْرِ﴿1﴾
By the dawn (English: Saheeh International)
By the dawn,N (English: Sarwar)
وَلَيَالٍ عَشْرٍ﴿2﴾
And [by] ten nights (English: Saheeh International)
by the Ten (secret) Nights,N (English: Sarwar)
وَالشَّفْعِ وَالْوَتْرِ﴿3﴾
And [by] the even [number] and the odd (English: Saheeh International)
by the odd and even (8th and 9th Dhil-hajj) (English: Sarwar)
وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَسْرِ﴿4﴾
And [by] the night when it passes,N (English: Saheeh International)
and by the night when it moves on towards daybreak (reward and retribution in the next life is an absolute reality). (English: Sarwar)
هَلْ فِي ذَلِكَ قَسَمٌ لِذِي حِجْرٍ﴿5﴾
Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient] for one of perception? (English: Saheeh International)
Is this not a sufficient oath for intelligent people? (English: Sarwar)
أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ﴿6﴾
Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with \`Aad - (English: Saheeh International)
(Muhammad), consider how your Lord dealt with the tribe of Ad,N (English: Sarwar)
إِرَمَ ذَاتِ الْعِمَادِ﴿7﴾
[With] Iram - who had lofty pillars,N (English: Saheeh International)
the people of the huge columned city of Eram (English: Sarwar)
الَّتِي لَمْ يُخْلَقْ مِثْلُهَا فِي الْبِلَادِ﴿8﴾
The likes of whom had never been created in the land? (English: Saheeh International)
whose like has never been created in any other land. (English: Sarwar)
وَثَمُودَ الَّذِينَ جَابُوا الصَّخْرَ بِالْوَادِ﴿9﴾
And [with] Thamud, who carved out the rocks in the valley? (English: Saheeh International)
(Also consider how He dealt with) the Thamud, who carved their houses out of the rocks in the valley. (English: Sarwar)
وَفِرْعَوْنَ ذِي الْأَوْتَادِ﴿10﴾
And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes? - (English: Saheeh International)
(Also consider the people of) the Pharaoh who victimized people by placing them on the stake,N (English: Sarwar)
