هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ﴿1﴾
Has there reached you the report of the Overwhelming [event]? (English: Saheeh International)
Have you heard the story of the overwhelming event (the Day of Judgment)? (English: Sarwar)
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ﴿2﴾
[Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled,N (English: Saheeh International)
On that day the faces of some people will be humbly cast down,N (English: Sarwar)
عَامِلَةٌ نَاصِبَةٌ﴿3﴾
Working [hard] and exhausted. (English: Saheeh International)
troubled and tired as a result of their deeds in the past. (English: Sarwar)
تَصْلَى نَارًا حَامِيَةً﴿4﴾
They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. (English: Saheeh International)
They will suffer the heat of the blazing fire (English: Sarwar)
تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ﴿5﴾
They will be given drink from a boiling spring. (English: Saheeh International)
and will be made to drink from a fiercely boiling spring. (English: Sarwar)
لَيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِنْ ضَرِيعٍ﴿6﴾
For them there will be no food except from a poisonous, thorny plant (English: Saheeh International)
They will have no food other than bitter and thorny fruit (English: Sarwar)
لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنْ جُوعٍ﴿7﴾
Which neither nourishes nor avails against hunger. (English: Saheeh International)
which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. (English: Sarwar)
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَاعِمَةٌ﴿8﴾
[Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. (English: Saheeh International)
However, on that day the faces of other people will be happy. (English: Sarwar)
لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ﴿9﴾
With their effort [they are] satisfied (English: Saheeh International)
and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. (English: Sarwar)
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ﴿10﴾
In an elevated garden,N (English: Saheeh International)
They will live in an exalted garden (English: Sarwar)
