يَا أَيُّهَا الْمُزَّمِّلُ﴿1﴾
O you who wraps himself [in clothing],N (English: Saheeh International)
You, who have wrapped yourself up with a mantle,N (English: Sarwar)
قُمِ اللَّيْلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا﴿2﴾
Arise [to pray] the night, except for a little - (English: Saheeh International)
worship (God) for a few hours at night. (English: Sarwar)
نِصْفَهُ أَوِ انْقُصْ مِنْهُ قَلِيلًا﴿3﴾
Half of it - or subtract from it a little (English: Saheeh International)
(Worship Him) for more or less than half of the night (English: Sarwar)
أَوْ زِدْ عَلَيْهِ وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْآنَ تَرْتِيلًا﴿4﴾
Or add to it, and recite the Qur\`an with measured recitation. (English: Saheeh International)
and recite the Quran in a distinct tone; (English: Sarwar)
إِنَّا سَنُلْقِي عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِيلًا﴿5﴾
Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. (English: Saheeh International)
We are about to reveal to you a mighty word. (English: Sarwar)
إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ اللَّيْلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطْئًا وَأَقْوَمُ قِيلًا﴿6﴾
Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words. (English: Saheeh International)
Prayer at night leaves the strongest impression on one\`s soul and the words spoken are more consistent. (English: Sarwar)
إِنَّ لَكَ فِي النَّهَارِ سَبْحًا طَوِيلًا﴿7﴾
Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation. (English: Saheeh International)
During the day, you are preoccupied with many activities. (English: Sarwar)
وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ وَتَبَتَّلْ إِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيلًا﴿8﴾
And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion. (English: Saheeh International)
Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Lord of the eastern and western regions, with due sincerity. (English: Sarwar)
رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيلًا﴿9﴾
[He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs. (English: Saheeh International)
He is the only Lord, so choose Him as your guardian. (English: Sarwar)
وَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيلًا﴿10﴾
And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance. (English: Saheeh International)
Bear patiently whatever they say, do not yield to them and keep on preaching decently to them. (English: Sarwar)
