سَأَلَ سَائِلٌ بِعَذَابٍ وَاقِعٍ﴿1﴾
A supplicant asked for a punishment bound to happen (English: Saheeh International)
Someone has (needlessly) demanded to experience the torment (of God),N (English: Sarwar)
لِلْكَافِرِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُ دَافِعٌ﴿2﴾
To the disbelievers; of it there is no preventer. (English: Saheeh International)
which will inevitably seize the disbelievers. (English: Sarwar)
مِنَ اللهِ ذِي الْمَعَارِجِ﴿3﴾
[It is] from Allah, owner of the ways of ascent. (English: Saheeh International)
No one can defend him against God, the Lord of the exalted positions. (English: Sarwar)
تَعْرُجُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ إِلَيْهِ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ مِقْدَارُهُ خَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ﴿4﴾
The angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him during a Day the extent of which is fifty thousand years. (English: Saheeh International)
On that Day (of Judgment), long as fifty thousand years, the angels and the Spirit will ascend to Him. (English: Sarwar)
فَاصْبِرْ صَبْرًا جَمِيلًا﴿5﴾
So be patient with gracious patience. (English: Saheeh International)
(Muhammad), exercise patience with no complaints. (English: Sarwar)
إِنَّهُمْ يَرَوْنَهُ بَعِيدًا﴿6﴾
Indeed, they see it [as] distant,N (English: Saheeh International)
They think that it (the Day of Judgment) is far away. (English: Sarwar)
وَنَرَاهُ قَرِيبًا﴿7﴾
But We see it [as] near. (English: Saheeh International)
but We see it to be very near. (English: Sarwar)
يَوْمَ تَكُونُ السَّمَاءُ كَالْمُهْلِ﴿8﴾
On the Day the sky will be like murky oil,N (English: Saheeh International)
On the day when the heavens become like molten metal. (English: Sarwar)
وَتَكُونُ الْجِبَالُ كَالْعِهْنِ﴿9﴾
And the mountains will be like wool,N (English: Saheeh International)
and the mountains become like wool,N (English: Sarwar)
وَلَا يَسْأَلُ حَمِيمٌ حَمِيمًا﴿10﴾
And no friend will ask [anything of] a friend,N (English: Saheeh International)
even intimate friends will not inquire about their friends,N (English: Sarwar)
