The Inevitable Reality - (English: Saheeh International)
The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). (English: Sarwar)
مَا الْحَاقَّةُ﴿2﴾
What is the Inevitable Reality? (English: Saheeh International)
What is the Inevitable? (English: Sarwar)
وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الْحَاقَّةُ﴿3﴾
And what can make you know what is the Inevitable Reality? (English: Saheeh International)
Would that you knew (in detail) what the Inevitable is! (English: Sarwar)
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ وَعَادٌ بِالْقَارِعَةِ﴿4﴾
Thamud and \`Aad denied the Striking Calamity. (English: Saheeh International)
The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. (English: Sarwar)
فَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِالطَّاغِيَةِ﴿5﴾
So as for Thamud, they were destroyed by the overpowering [blast]. (English: Saheeh International)
The Thamuds were destroyed by a violent blast of sound. (English: Sarwar)
وَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَأُهْلِكُوا بِرِيحٍ صَرْصَرٍ عَاتِيَةٍ﴿6﴾
And as for \`Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind (English: Saheeh International)
The Ads were destroyed by a swift, destructive gale (English: Sarwar)
سَخَّرَهَا عَلَيْهِمْ سَبْعَ لَيَالٍ وَثَمَانِيَةَ أَيَّامٍ حُسُومًا فَتَرَى الْقَوْمَ فِيهَا صَرْعَى كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍ خَاوِيَةٍ﴿7﴾
Which Allah imposed upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so you would see the people therein fallen as if they were hollow trunks of palm trees. (English: Saheeh International)
which continued to strike them for seven and eight days so that eventually you could see the people lying dead like the hollow trunks of uprooted palm-trees. (English: Sarwar)
فَهَلْ تَرَى لَهُمْ مِنْ بَاقِيَةٍ﴿8﴾
Then do you see of them any remains? (English: Saheeh International)
Can you see any of their survivors? (English: Sarwar)
وَجَاءَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَنْ قَبْلَهُ وَالْمُؤْتَفِكَاتُ بِالْخَاطِئَةِ﴿9﴾
And there came Pharaoh and those before him and the overturned cities with sin. (English: Saheeh International)
The Pharaoh, those who lived before him and the people of the Subverted Cities all persisted in doing evil. (English: Sarwar)
فَعَصَوْا رَسُولَ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَهُمْ أَخْذَةً رَابِيَةً﴿10﴾
And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. (English: Saheeh International)
