ن وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ﴿1﴾
Nun. By the pen and what they inscribe,N (English: Saheeh International)
Nun. By the pen and by what you write,N (English: Sarwar)
مَا أَنْتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ﴿2﴾
You are not, [O Muhammad], by the favor of your Lord, a madman. (English: Saheeh International)
(Muhammad), you are not insane, thanks to the bounty of your Lord. (English: Sarwar)
وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ﴿3﴾
And indeed, for you is a reward uninterrupted. (English: Saheeh International)
You will certainly receive a never-ending reward. (English: Sarwar)
وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَى خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ﴿4﴾
And indeed, you are of a great moral character. (English: Saheeh International)
You have attained a high moral standard. (English: Sarwar)
فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ﴿5﴾
So you will see and they will see (English: Saheeh International)
You will see and they will also see (English: Sarwar)
بِأَيْيِكُمُ الْمَفْتُونُ﴿6﴾
Which of you is the afflicted [by a devil]. (English: Saheeh International)
which of you has been afflicted by insanity. (English: Sarwar)
إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ﴿7﴾
Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who has gone astray from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided. (English: Saheeh International)
Your Lord knows best who has gone astray from His path and who is rightly guided. (English: Sarwar)
فَلَا تُطِعِ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ﴿8﴾
Then do not obey the deniers. (English: Saheeh International)
Do not yield to those who reject the Truth. (English: Sarwar)
وَدُّوا لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ﴿9﴾
They wish that you would soften [in your position], so they would soften [toward you]. (English: Saheeh International)
They would like you to relent to them so that they could also relent towards you. (English: Sarwar)
وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَهِينٍ﴿10﴾
And do not obey every worthless habitual swearer (English: Saheeh International)
Do not yield to one persistent in swearing,N (English: Sarwar)
