تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ﴿1﴾
Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent - (English: Saheeh International)
Blessed is He in whose hands is the Kingdom and who has power over all things. (English: Sarwar)
الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ﴿2﴾
[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving - (English: Saheeh International)
It is He who has created death and life to put you to the test and see which of you is most virtuous in your deeds. He is Majestic and All-forgiving. (English: Sarwar)
الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا مَا تَرَى فِي خَلْقِ الرَّحْمَنِ مِنْ تَفَاوُتٍ فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَى مِنْ فُطُورٍ﴿3﴾
[And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? (English: Saheeh International)
It is He who has created seven heavens, one above the other. You can see no flaw in the creation of the Beneficent God. Look again. Can you see faults? (English: Sarwar)
ثُمَّ ارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ يَنْقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِئًا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٌ﴿4﴾
Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. (English: Saheeh International)
Look twice (and keep on looking), your eyes will only become dull and tired. (English: Sarwar)
وَلَقَدْ زَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَجَعَلْنَاهَا رُجُومًا لِلشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لَهُمْ عَذَابَ السَّعِيرِ﴿5﴾
And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. (English: Saheeh International)
We have decked the lowest heavens with torches. With these torches We have stoned the devils and We have prepared for them the torment of hell. (English: Sarwar)
وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِرَبِّهِمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَبِئْسَ الْمَصِيرُ﴿6﴾
And for those who disbelieved in their Lord is the punishment of Hell, and wretched is the destination. (English: Saheeh International)
For those who have disbelieved in their Lord, We have prepared the torment of hell, the most terrible place to return. (English: Sarwar)
إِذَا أُلْقُوا فِيهَا سَمِعُوا لَهَا شَهِيقًا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ﴿7﴾
When they are thrown into it, they hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling while it boils up. (English: Saheeh International)
When they are thrown into hell, they will hear its roaring while it boils. (English: Sarwar)
تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ الْغَيْظِ كُلَّمَا أُلْقِيَ فِيهَا فَوْجٌ سَأَلَهُمْ خَزَنَتُهَا أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ نَذِيرٌ﴿8﴾
It almost bursts with rage. Every time a company is thrown into it, its keepers ask them, "Did there not come to you a warner?" (English: Saheeh International)
It almost explodes in rage. Whenever a group is thrown into it, its keepers will ask them, "Did no one come to warn you?" (English: Sarwar)
قَالُوا بَلَى قَدْ جَاءَنَا نَذِيرٌ فَكَذَّبْنَا وَقُلْنَا مَا نَزَّلَ اللهُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنْتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ كَبِيرٍ﴿9﴾
They will say," Yes, a warner had come to us, but we denied and said, \`Allah has not sent down anything. You are not but in great error.\`" (English: Saheeh International)
They will say, "Yes, someone did come to warn us, but we rejected him saying, \`God has revealed nothing. You are in great error". (English: Sarwar)
وَقَالُوا لَوْ كُنَّا نَسْمَعُ أَوْ نَعْقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِي أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ﴿10﴾
And they will say, "If only we had been listening or reasoning, we would not be among the companions of the Blaze." (English: Saheeh International)
They will also say, "Had We listened or used our minds, we would not have become the dwellers of hell". (English: Sarwar)
