اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ﴿1﴾
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two]. (English: Saheeh International)
The Hour of Doom is drawing near and the moon is rent asunder. (English: Sarwar)
وَإِنْ يَرَوْا آيَةً يُعْرِضُوا وَيَقُولُوا سِحْرٌ مُسْتَمِرٌّ﴿2﴾
And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, "Passing magic." (English: Saheeh International)
Whenever they see a miracle, they turn away from it and say, "This is just a powerful magic". (English: Sarwar)
وَكَذَّبُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا أَهْوَاءَهُمْ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍ مُسْتَقِرٌّ﴿3﴾
And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement. (English: Saheeh International)
They have rejected it and have followed their own desires, but all matters will be settled (by God). (English: Sarwar)
وَلَقَدْ جَاءَهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْبَاءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ﴿4﴾
And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence - (English: Saheeh International)
They have certainly received the kind of news in which there is a lesson and strong words of wisdom,N (English: Sarwar)
حِكْمَةٌ بَالِغَةٌ فَمَا تُغْنِ النُّذُرُ﴿5﴾
Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]. (English: Saheeh International)
but the warnings have proved to have no effect on them. (English: Sarwar)
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ الدَّاعِ إِلَى شَيْءٍ نُكُرٍ﴿6﴾
So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding,N (English: Saheeh International)
(Muhammad), leave them alone. On the day when they will be called to a terrible punishment,N (English: Sarwar)
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَارُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌ مُنْتَشِرٌ﴿7﴾
Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading,N (English: Saheeh International)
they will come out of their graves, their eyes cast down, hastening towards their Summoner as locusts rushing about. (English: Sarwar)
مُهْطِعِينَ إِلَى الدَّاعِ يَقُولُ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌ﴿8﴾
Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, "This is a difficult Day." (English: Saheeh International)
These disbelievers will say, "This is a hard day". (English: Sarwar)
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ فَكَذَّبُوا عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا مَجْنُونٌ وَازْدُجِرَ﴿9﴾
The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, "A madman," and he was repelled. (English: Saheeh International)
The people of Noah, who lived before them, had also rejected (Our guidance). They rejected Our servant and said, "He is an insane person so let us drive him away". (English: Sarwar)
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنِّي مَغْلُوبٌ فَانْتَصِرْ﴿10﴾
So he invoked his Lord, "Indeed, I am overpowered, so help." (English: Saheeh International)
Noah prayed, "Lord, help me; I am defeated". (English: Sarwar)
