الم﴿1﴾
Alif, Lam, Meem. (English: Saheeh International)
Alif. Lam. Mim. (English: Sarwar)
ذَلِكَ الْكِتَابُ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ هُدًى لِلْمُتَّقِينَ﴿2﴾
This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah - (English: Saheeh International)
There is no doubt that this book is a guide for the pious; (English: Sarwar)
الَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْغَيْبِ وَيُقِيمُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقْنَاهُمْ يُنْفِقُونَ﴿3﴾
Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them,N (English: Saheeh International)
the pious who believe in the unseen, attend to prayer, give in charity part of what We have granted them; (English: Sarwar)
وَالَّذِينَ يُؤْمِنُونَ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا أُنْزِلَ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ وَبِالْآخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ﴿4﴾
And who believe in what has been revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what was revealed before you, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith]. (English: Saheeh International)
who have faith in what has been revealed to you and others before you and have strong faith in the life hereafter. (English: Sarwar)
أُولَئِكَ عَلَى هُدًى مِنْ رَبِّهِمْ وَأُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُفْلِحُونَ﴿5﴾
Those are upon [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful. (English: Saheeh International)
It is the pious who follow the guidance of their Lord and gain lasting happiness. (English: Sarwar)
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ أَأَنْذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنْذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ﴿6﴾
Indeed, those who disbelieve - it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe. (English: Saheeh International)
Those who deny your message will not believe whether you warn them or not (English: Sarwar)
خَتَمَ اللهُ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ وَعَلَى سَمْعِهِمْ وَعَلَى أَبْصَارِهِمْ غِشَاوَةٌ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ﴿7﴾
Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment. (English: Saheeh International)
God has sealed their hearts and hearing and their vision is veiled; a great punishment awaits them. (English: Sarwar)
وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللهِ وَبِالْيَوْمِ الْآخِرِ وَمَا هُمْ بِمُؤْمِنِينَ﴿8﴾
And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah and the Last Day," but they are not believers. (English: Saheeh International)
Some people say, "We believe in God and the Day of Judgment," but they are not true believers. (English: Sarwar)
يُخَادِعُونَ اللهَ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَمَا يَخْدَعُونَ إِلَّا أَنْفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ﴿9﴾
They [think to] deceive Allah and those who believe, but they deceive not except themselves and perceive [it] not. (English: Saheeh International)
They deceive God and the believers. However, they have deceived no one but themselves, a fact of which they are not aware. (English: Sarwar)
فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ اللهُ مَرَضًا وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْذِبُونَ﴿10﴾
In their hearts is disease, so Allah has increased their disease; and for them is a painful punishment because they [habitually] used to lie. (English: Saheeh International)
A sickness exists in their hearts to which God adds more sickness. Besides this, they will suffer a painful punishment as a result of the lie which they speak. (English: Sarwar)
