الْحَمْدُ للهِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلَ عَلَى عَبْدِهِ الْكِتَابَ وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ عِوَجًا﴿1﴾
[All] praise is [due] to Allah, who has sent down upon His Servant the Book and has not made therein any deviance. (English: Saheeh International)
Praise be to God. He has sent the Book to His servant and has made it a flawless guide (for human beings) (English: Sarwar)
قَيِّمًا لِيُنْذِرَ بَأْسًا شَدِيدًا مِنْ لَدُنْهُ وَيُبَشِّرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ الصَّالِحَاتِ أَنَّ لَهُمْ أَجْرًا حَسَنًا﴿2﴾
[He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward (English: Saheeh International)
so that he could warn them of His stern retribution, give the glad news of the best and everlasting reward to the righteously striving believers,N (English: Sarwar)
مَاكِثِينَ فِيهِ أَبَدًا﴿3﴾
In which they will remain forever (English: Saheeh International)
wherein they shall remain forever,N (English: Sarwar)
وَيُنْذِرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا اتَّخَذَ اللهُ وَلَدًا﴿4﴾
And to warn those who say, "Allah has taken a son." (English: Saheeh International)
and admonish those who say that God has begotten a son. (English: Sarwar)
مَا لَهُمْ بِهِ مِنْ عِلْمٍ وَلَا لِآبَائِهِمْ كَبُرَتْ كَلِمَةً تَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ إِنْ يَقُولُونَ إِلَّا كَذِبًا﴿5﴾
They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers. Grave is the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak not except a lie. (English: Saheeh International)
Neither they nor their fathers had any knowledge of such utterance (that God has begotten a son). Whatever they say about (this matter) is vicious blasphemy and plain lies. (English: Sarwar)
فَلَعَلَّكَ بَاخِعٌ نَفْسَكَ عَلَى آثَارِهِمْ إِنْ لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ أَسَفًا﴿6﴾
Then perhaps you would kill yourself through grief over them, [O Muhammad], if they do not believe in this message, [and] out of sorrow. (English: Saheeh International)
Perhaps you will destroy yourself out of grief because they disbelieve this Book. (English: Sarwar)
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ زِينَةً لَهَا لِنَبْلُوَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا﴿7﴾
Indeed, We have made that which is on the earth adornment for it that We may test them [as to] which of them is best in deed. (English: Saheeh International)
We have caused earthly things to seem attractive so that We can see who will excel in good deeds. (English: Sarwar)
وَإِنَّا لَجَاعِلُونَ مَا عَلَيْهَا صَعِيدًا جُرُزًا﴿8﴾
And indeed, We will make that which is upon it [into] a barren ground. (English: Saheeh International)
Let it be known that We will turn all things on earth into dust. (English: Sarwar)
أَمْ حَسِبْتَ أَنَّ أَصْحَابَ الْكَهْفِ وَالرَّقِيمِ كَانُوا مِنْ آيَاتِنَا عَجَبًا﴿9﴾
Or have you thought that the companions of the cave and the inscription were, among Our signs, a wonder? (English: Saheeh International)
Do you not think that the story of the Companions of the Cave and the Inscription was one of Our marvelous miracles? (English: Sarwar)
إِذْ أَوَى الْفِتْيَةُ إِلَى الْكَهْفِ فَقَالُوا رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا﴿10﴾
[Mention] when the youths retreated to the cave and said, "Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance." (English: Saheeh International)
When the youth sought refuge in the cave they prayed "Lord, grant us mercy and help us to get out of this trouble in a righteous way". (English: Sarwar)
